Man charged with murder after stabbing death of his partner's ex-boyfriend

A man was charged with murder accused of killing his partner’s ex-boyfriend in a vicious stabbing at a Sydney home.

Police say the men returned to the North Bondi apartment, in Sydney’s east, following a night-out before they became involved in a heated fight.

Paramedics were called to the apartment block at 12.30am on Sunday after 26-year-old Jordan Byrne was stabbed repeatedly in the stomach, head and face.

He was rushed to hospital but died later on Sunday morning from horrific injuries.

The apartment block has been a crime scene all day.

It was a shock for neighbours who raised the alarm.

“Very quiet, everyone’s really friendly, lots of children around,” one neighbour said.

“I’m Bondi born and bred and Bondi’s changed a hell of a lot,” another neighbour added.

Milo Wild, 27, was arrested at the apartment. He was treated for facial injuries and put under police guard.

The two had both dated the same woman who was at the home, but detectives are still trying to work out exactly what sparked the fight.

Police are also still looking for the murder weapon. They scaled roofs of neighbouring buildings and searched gardens as forensic teams gathered evidence inside.

A 27-year-old man was charged with murder on Sunday.

The Bondi Beach man has been refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Monday.
