Man charged after 'biting' Sydney officer

A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting two police officers, following his arrest in western Sydney.

Police were called to an incident on Saturday when which a 55-year-old man was allegedly attacked by another man with a beer bottle in Blacktown CBD.

Following investigations, police arrested the accused at Blacktown Railway Station.

When taken to the police station, the man allegedly bit a male constable on the shoulder and verbally abused a female Sergeant.

He was charged with reckless wounding, assault against a police officer and intimidation of a police officer.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
