Man shamed for 'disgusting behaviour' on busy train platform

A commuter has called out a fellow passenger’s “disgusting behaviour” after spotting him brushing his teeth on a busy train platform.

Melissa Thermidor, 37, took photos of the commuter cleaning his teeth at Euston station on London’s Tube before spitting toothpaste out on the floor at about 9.45am on Wednesday (local time).

“Disgusting behaviour at Euston station this morning,” she wrote as she shared pictures of the man responsible.

“Packed platform and this man starts brushing his teeth and spits repeatedly on the platform.”

Ms Thermidor told Yahoo News UK despite the station being “jam packed”, the man – or other passengers - didn’t seem to care.

“No one called him out but people kind of shifted away from him when they realised what he was doing. I was shocked,” she said.

Originally from New York, Ms Thermidor has lived in London for six years and commutes daily through Euston station.

She works as the social media manager for NHS Blood and Transport and added: ‘As someone who works for the NHS I was concerned about health and safety as well’.

Ms Thermidor’s post was quickly inundated with comments from people sharing their disgust at the commuter’s behaviour, which was described as “new levels of gross”.

“Wtf?! He’s lucky it wasn’t me on the platform as I probably would have vomited on him,” one person wrote.

“That is absolutely disgusting,” another said.

Ms Thermidor’s tweet has since been liked over 1000 times and has more than 500 retweets.

It’s not the first time commuters have caused outrage over their “disgusting” acts.

Last year a woman was caught shaving her legs at a New York train station.
