Woman's 'terrifying' encounter with man in gimp suit in dark alley
A man has been arrested after allegedly donning a gimp suit and terrorising women in a small village.
Police were alerted to the alarming behaviour after several residents in Claverham, in England’s southwest, complained of a man in the black suit and mask jumping out on them at nighttime.
One woman told the BBC that a man in a black rubber suit charged at her last Thursday while breathing heavily and touching his groin.
She said she was out walking in the village when she was approached by the man in the gimp suit along a dark lane.
"Everything was running through my head. I thought: 'This is it, I'm going to get attacked’,” she said.
The woman, in her 20s, said the man moved towards her while “grunting and breathing heavily” before fleeing the scene.
She managed to take a photo of the man as he approached.
After calling police, officers were deployed on the ground and in the air but the man could not be found.
The woman said she has fears of leaving her home now and that every time she closes her eyes she sees “that face”.
Local police told the BBC a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of indecency offences in Claverham and Yatton.
"It follows 14 reports of a man approaching people while wearing disguises, one of which was a black body suit," Avon and Somerset Police said.
