The 26-year-old’s parents told 7 NEWS that they woke to a knock on the door from police on Thursday.

“I just got told he got doused and lit, and that’s just wrong,” his father Barry Moore said.

“It’s not a good wake-up call.”

His parents said he remains in a serious condition in hospital but he is unable to speak as a result of severe burns to his face, neck and arms.
