A man has faced court accused of spitting at a nurse at a COVID-19 fever clinic

A man who allegedly spat at a Brisbane nurse at a COVID-19 fever clinic has appeared in court.

Law Yu, 52, is charged with serious assault over the alleged offence at the Royal Brisbane Hospital on April 8.

Brisbane Magistrates Court was told on Tuesday the 52-year-old man, who is from Burma, does not speak English.

He was released on bail to appear in court on July 21.
