A man has handed himself into police after he allegedly “inappropriately touched himself” while at a Victorian fast food restaurant last month.

On Monday, Victoria Police released images and CCTV footage of the man who visited the Ararat fast food outlet on High Street on Sunday, January 17.

The unidentified man was at the store between 1pm and 1.30pm.

Police alleged the man inappropriately touched himself while looking at a female staff member as he waited in line at the restaurant.

Staff refused to take the man’s money until he washed his hands.

The man was then seen going into the bathroom before he returned to the counter, ordered and then left with his food.

Later on Tuesday, Victoria Police said in a statement the man had handed himself in authorities.

“The 29-year-old is currently assisting police with their enquiries,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“Police would like to thank the community and media for their assistance.”
