Man, 29, ‘battered in Soho attack’ fights for life in hospital

A young man is fighting for life after suffering a serious head injury during a brawl in Soho early on Wednesday.

Police believe the victim, aged 29, was attacked by a suspect in Greek Street.

Officers, paramedics andLondon’s Air Ambulance attended just after 3am.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH, police said.

Images on social media showed the crime scene and police cordons near popular restaurants and bars in the West End.

The injured man was taken to a west London hospital where his condition is currently considered life-threatening.

The Metropolitan Police said: “Officers believe the man was injured during a fight with another man. A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.”
