Man, 25, charged over alleged sexual assault of teen since she was 10

A Sydney man has been charged over the alleged repeated sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl.

The 25-year-old man was arrested at a home in Willmot, west of Sydney, following an investigation by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.

Police allege the man sexually abused the teen on numerous occasions over a five-year period, when the girl was aged between 10 and 15 years old.

He is also accused of showing her sexually explicit material.

A search of the home also uncovered a sword, a hunting knife, a replica firearm and several electronic devices.

All items were seized by police.

The man has been charged with aggravated sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years of age, attempted sexual intercourse with person aged 14-16 years, and two counts of grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity.

He was refused bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
