Magic center Mo Bamba leaves NBA bubble for 'post-coronavirus evaluation'

The Orlando Magic won’t have center Mo Bamba for their playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks. Bamba has left the bubble, and will miss the rest of the season, to get a “post-coronavirus evaluation,” the team announced Friday.

Bamba had coronavirus in June

Bamba, 22, was diagnosed with coronavirus June 11. He reported to the bubble in early July, and still produced positive tests for a few days after he arrived. He was cleared July 12, and only played in two games with the team. In both contests, Bamba’s minutes were severely limited. Prior to the bubble, Bamba averaged 14.5 minutes per game. In his two games during the NBA restart, Bamba averaged just 5.4 minutes per game.

Bamba hasn’t played since Aug. 2.
