MAFS' Tahnee and Ollie discover they're related in bizarre twist

The youngest Married At First Sight couple are closer than they realised.

MAFS couple Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton are one of this year’s strongest matches, with the pair bonding over their love of Thai food at the altar. While other contestants have found their marriages full of drama, the youngest bride and groom of the experiment haven’t had any bumps in the road so far.

However, there's one bizarre twist that wasn’t aired in their wedding day episode. Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that the newlyweds are actually distant relatives, which came as a complete surprise to the pair.

The couple only found out at their wedding reception when guests from each side recognised each other.

“Tahnee’s sister’s husband is Ollie’s second cousin,” an insider spills, before emphasising Tahnee and Ollie aren’t related by blood.

“Although they’re not blood-related or anything like that, technically they are distant relatives in a weird way. A lot of the cast would joke about it.”

The insider adds that this ‘weird’ storyline is unlikely to make it on TV, as Channel Nine may want to sweep it under the rug.

“They laughed about this a few times during filming, but it probably won’t be aired as Channel Nine won’t want people spinning it into an incest-style headline scandal,” our source explains.

Yahoo Lifestyle has reached out to Nine for comment.

Tahnee's surprising past with Harry Styles

This comes after Yahoo Lifestyle revealed a storyline about Tahnee and Harry Styles was scrapped from the show. The PR manager was filmed expressing her hopes that her husband would resemble the pop star, after previously catching the singer's attention online.

In her teenage years, Tahnee was a die-hard One Direction fan and organised a huge flash mob dancing to the boy band outside the Sydney Opera House.

A video from the event ended up going viral, with Harry Styles and Niall Horan commenting on it during press interviews and complimenting Tahnee and the fans involved.

“There's like a video of about 100 One Direction fans doing a dance,” Harry said on Today in 2012. “They taught each other the dance by putting YouTube videos on to teach people, and then they met up and videoed it. We saw the video of them in Sydney and it looked amazing.”

The following year, Tahnee organised a second – and even bigger – flash mob for the group, which racked up millions of views online and kickstarted her career in PR and music management.

Since then, Tahnee has been obsessed with Harry Styles and joked before her wedding that she hoped her husband would resemble the pop star – but this was all cut from TV.

While he might not be Harry's twin, Tahnee's 'husband' Ollie appears to be the perfect match for her. Leaked photos of Tahnee and Ollie appear to show they are still going strong, with fans no doubt excited to see more of the bubbly pair.
