Married at First Sight Australia star Domenica Calarco has debuted a shorter haircut for a good cause.

Domenica, known for taking part in season 9 of the Aussie version of MAFS, took to Instagram to share her hair transformation as part of a campaign to raise funds for Australia's Leukaemia Foundation. The initiative entailed asking stars to shave, cut or colour their hair to help spread awareness and raise funds for blood cancer patients.

The MAFS star opted for a shorter do, going from a blonde bob to a darker pixie cut, as documented in a video.

"I DID IT!!! I still don't have worlds to describe how this feels! I am so incredibly proud of all the money we are continuing to raise for @leukaemia_foundation," she shared in the caption. "This is for all the people who don't have a choice to shave their heads."

Whilst some criticised Domenica for not shaving her head fully, others were supportive of the initiative, pointing out that the goal is to raise money by either shaving, cutting or colouring one's hair.

"It looks beautiful. The charity themselves are promoting cut, colour OR shave. I don't understand the hate on here," one person wrote.

"My son had leukaemia and I've always found the shaving a little upsetting - choosing to go bald knowing it'll grow back isn't the same as being forcibly bald for over a year (in my son's case). But whoever and however, as long as it's raising vitally needed funds who cares?!"

Leukaemia Foundation also joined the conversation, thanking those who praised the campaign regardless of the amount of hair that was cut off.

"Thank you for your feedback and kindness," the charity wrote in response. "We too believe that every strand of hair changed makes a difference to those impacted with blood cancer."

Previously explaining the decision to take part in the campaign on her social media, Domenica looked back on her I'm a Celebrity... Australia stint, revealing she was "bummed" to not win as she intended to donate the cash prize to the cause.

"It's something very close to my heart," she said. "I did go all the way to the jungle in South Africa to raise funds, and now I am an ambassador [for the Leukaemia Foundation] for 2024, which is just one of the most incredible things."
