Pop diva Madonna has made a surprise appearance at a rally against Donald Trump and urged those present not to give up the fight against the president.
The outraged singer said that she had "thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House".
"But I know this won't change anything. We cannot fall into despair."
Describing Mr Trump's election as a "horrific moment of darkness", she said it should be a wake up call.
"It seems as though we had all slipped into a false sense of comfort that justice would prevail and that good would win in the end.
"Well good did not win this election. But good will win in the end."
She said today marked the beginning of the "revolution" and the "fight for the right to be free".
