Love Island: All Stars reveals its first couples
The public voted for the couples they wanted to see on the dating show
Love Island: All Stars has its first couples after a dramatic opening episode.
The spin-off has returned for a second series, with a host of former Islanders heading into the villa once again for another shot at love. Big names from previous series, including Curtis Pritchard and Kaz Crossley, have headed into the flash pad in South Africa in a bid to meet their perfect match.
The dating show got under way on ITV2 on Monday, 13 January, and it included the first coupling. In a twist, host Maya Jama revealed: “The decision of who you couple up with is not down to you. The public have already coupled you up!”
So who ended up with who?
Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville
Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville both looked decidedly unimpressed when they were matched up, having had a failed romance before. The pair were on the third series of Love Island and remained a couple after the show.
However, Allen later accused Somerville of cheating on her and they split. When they were reunited in the villa, Somerville admitted: "I ended up playing the field while I was still in the relationship - wasn't the best choice." But he said he had learned from his mistakes and changed.
Allen, who said she has been single for around a year, joked that Somerville would be sleeping on the day beds now that they have been coupled up again.
Curtis Pritchard and Kaz Crossley
Series five star Curtis Pritchard looked thrilled as he was paired up with Kaz Crossley from the fourth series of the dating show. Pritchard made a splash first time around when he coupled up with Maura Higgins but that didn't go the distance.
Crossley previously got together with fellow Islander Josh Denzel, but they have since split and gone their separate ways. "I thought it was the real deal but then we broke up," she said.
Catherine Agbaje and Nas Majeed
Nas Majeed was on series six and ended up in a long relationship with fellow Islander Eva Zapico. They were among the show's big success stories, with rumours that marriage could even be on the cards. However, they went on to break up and Majeed said as he returned to the villa: "Fingers crossed I find love again."
Agbaje was on season 10 and said she was serious about finding Mr Right this time. "I want to be a wifey!" she said.
India Reynolds and Scott Thomas
India Reynolds, who described herself as a "bad dater", has not found The One since she was on the dating show in series five.
This time around she has been coupled up with Scott Thomas, who was in the show nine years ago.
"We have known each other for a long time but let's see what happens," she said. Thomas chimed in to explain that the pair had not really been out of "the friend zone" before.
When he was an islander in 2016 he met and fell for Kady McDermott and they were together for around a year.
Luca Bish and Olivia Hawkins
The public decided to put Luca Bish and Olivia Hawkins together on the show.
Hawkins was an Islander in series nine and confessed that her love life had "got worse" since her last stint in the ITV villa.
"She's a beautiful girl," said Bish, smiling after the announcement. "And it will be nice to get to know her."

He was a contestant in series eight and was in a relationship with footy star Michael Owen's daughter Gemma. However, that has since ended.
Joking in his VT, Bish laughed: "My relationship with Gemma lasted a few months... too long."
Ronnie Vint and Elma Pazar
Ronnie Vint was known for getting in some romantic pickles when he was a single looking for love in season 11, but he said one of his plans for the All Stars series was to not get involved in "so many triangles".
Pazar joked that she was "in and out" when she was on the show in 2019, as she was in the Love Island villa for just six days. However, she had high hopes for this series after she and Vint hit it off before the couples had been announced.
"Thank you!" she said to viewers, after Jama announced her pair.
Bombshell twist
There was a twist at the end of the episode when Ekin-Su Culculoglu arrived as the first bombshell.
The star, who won the eighth series of the show with former partner Davide Sanclimenti, was told she can date three of the men and then choose one to couple up with.
Love Island: All Stars returns at 9pm on ITV 2 on Tuesday, 14 January.
