Lorry crash leads to M6 stretch closure

A stretch of the M6 was closed southbound after a crash involving a lorry and car.

It happened at about 18:00 BST on Thursday between junction four for Coleshill and junction 3A near Little Packington.

Long queues were reported southbound for several miles.

In an update National Highways said traffic was now being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads.

However, there is about three miles of congestion and the organisation warned drivers to allow extra travel time.

The link road from the M42 junction 7A north to the M6 at junction four south remains closed.

Traffic is expected to return to normal after 23:00.
