Lorde suffers wardrobe malfunction on stage
Lorde has handled a public wardrobe malfunction like an absolute pro, after her top fell apart on stage last night whilst performing her headline slot at Splendour in the Grass.
Despite being forced to interrupt her set and run off stage when her silver crop top came apart, the Kiwi singer championed on with her set, proving she’s more than just an incredible voice.
The New Zealand singer blamed her enthusiastic dancing for the mishap, telling the crowd something “crazy” had just happened to her before she revealed her broken top.
“This is historically a very dancey night which I am happy about,” she told the audience. “But I want to show you something crazy that just happened to me.”
After taking off her jacket and showing the crowd her bare back, the 21-year-old laughed as she explained that her “shirt has become disconnected from my body”.
“Will you give me a second to fix this and I’ll run back?” She asked the audience. “This is crazy, talk amongst yourselves.”
The crowd did exactly that, breaking out into a rendition of DJ Otzi’s Hey Baby.
They then went nuts when several minutes later, Lorde made her way back out on stage.
“Hello again I’m back,” she said. “That should be fine now.”
Luckily the rest of her set continued without a hitch.
