The Loose Women regular – who has been a critic of lockdown restrictions amid the pandemic – took issue with a comment that deputy chief medical officer Jonathan Van-Tam made about the vaccine averting thousands of deaths.
Sharing a tweet about it, McGiffin wrote: “What a load of absolutely meaningless b******s.
“Scary made up numbers are the only thing they're good at.
“Unless of course he has evidence for it??? I'm guessing he probably has roughly none.”

The TV star’s comments sparked a debate on Twitter, with one user responding: “What medical qualifications do you have, none I presume.”
Another posted: “Let’s see your evidence for doubting his words……….Oh, you’ve got none. Pipe down then with your uneducated clap trap.”
“The word probably is a relatively short word in reference to the subject,” said another. “I've had both doses and will be happy to take my third when available and my flu jab when it's available.”
McGiffin has previously been outspoken about the pandemic and restrictions.
Her fellow Loose Women panellist Denise Welch has also been critical of lockdown restrictions and last year was involved in a row with Piers Morgan over the lifting of distancing rules.
Yahoo has contacted a representative for McGiffin for comment.
