Lollipop man suffers horrific injuries after being 'beaten up' near school

A man has been arrested after an elderly lollipop man was punched in the face in Perth’s east.

The 72-year-old was working near Cloverdale Primary School on Wednesday about 8.40am when it’s alleged his wife and another man, believed to be a lawn mower, were involved in a verbal altercation.

She was sitting in their parked car.

It’s further alleged the elderly man was punched in the face as he approached the man speaking with his wife.

He suffered minor facial injuries and was treated at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

A 32-year-old man from Kalamunda has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm and will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on December 16.
