Live updates: Trump talks drones, vaccines as RFK Jr. kicks off Senate visits

President-elect Trump talked about drones, vaccines, foreign wars and his Cabinet in a wide-ranging press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Monday morning.

Hours later, one of those Cabinet picks, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., arrived for sit-downs with senators about his plans to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

The other side of the Capitol was busy trying to craft a deal to keep the government funded, ahead of a looming Friday deadline to avert a government shutdown. Midafternoon Monday, House Appropriations Chair Tom Cole (R-Okla.) told reporters that the “differences are narrowing” among all sides.

Meanwhile, the clamor in Congress for information on drone sightings is getting louder. On Sunday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) called on the Department of Homeland Security to deploy technology to detect drones.
