Little sympathy for dirt bike rider's 'stupid' stunt fail

A dirt bike rider who was “lucky” to walk away after attempting a wheelie down a busy suburban road has become the target of abuse from online viewers labelling the stunt as ‘stupid’.

Dashcam footage of the incident shows the rider, who appears to be wearing just a T-shirt and shorts, travelling in the middle lane of a suburban road in Sydney’s southwest.

But the wheelie does not end well, with the rider crashing to the ground.

Another rider who had been following behind can be seen in the video having to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting the one who fell on the road.

“Driving home from picking our daughter up from work yesterday and this is what we saw on Harold Street Macquarie Fields luckily the guy was ok,” according to the post on Dash Cam Owners Australia.

While the person who sent the video into the Facebook page said the rider was lucky, other social media users were not as nice, with the rider gaining very little sympathy.

“Lucky in that his bike didn’t slam into the dash cam car,” one person wrote.

“Luckily he didn’t get hit by a car and cause an innocent driver to feel guilty for his stupid decision,” said another Facebook user.

“Up next on ‘When confidence overcomes ability’,” said another, while a different Facebook user commented, “at least he was wearing his safety shorts and t-shirt.”

The video was uploaded to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page on Sunday.

It has been viewed more than 107,000 times in less than 24 hours.
