Four-year-old takes great-grandfather's SUV to get chocolate

A bold four-year-old boy has stolen his great-grandfather’s car and driven through peak hour traffic because he wanted chocolate.

Sebastian Swenson used his great-grandfather’s walker to steal his car keys off a hook and took off in his SUV from his home in the US state of Minnesota at about 8.30am last week, Fox9 reports.

Sebastian drove on a four-lane motorway at speeds for about 2.4km between 16-24km/h.

Witnesses said the boy’s driving was erratic but he eventually safely turned into a petrol station where police were waiting.

The little boy managed to hit a few mailboxes and a tree. A neighbour also found part of the car’s bumper.

Police Captain Mark Boerboom told the station he’s never seen someone as young as Sebastian driving before.

No one was injured but Sebastian’s great-grandfather Roy Becker said it could’ve been much worse.

“It could’ve been very serious,” Mr Becker said.

“He could’ve hit a car. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. We could be talking about a funeral.”

As for the lollies he was chasing, Sebastian’s chocolate of choice is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
