Lismore floods: Beloved country singer 'icon' identified among the dead
An Australian country music singer from Lismore has been identified as one of the women who died in the wake of the devastating floods in NSW.
At least three confirmed deaths had been recorded in the flood crisis in the northern town of Lismore by Wednesday afternoon.
One of the victims was identified as Marge Graham, a prominent country music singer and broadcaster.
Tributes have been shared to social media in the wake of Ms Graham's death, where many highlighted her achievements throughout her career, including the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA).
"The CMAA is saddened to hear of the tragic loss of Northern NSW country music performer, broadcaster, promoter, and event organiser Marge Graham," the tribute shared to Facebook said.
"We’d like to extend our thoughts and well-wishes to Marge’s family and friends during this very sad time, and to all those who have been affected by the terrible floods in Qld and NSW. Please stay safe."
Fellow country music singer Reg Poole OAM also paid tribute to Ms Graham, saying her death was "very sad news".
