Lisa Wilkinson ‘missing’ from Channel 10’s major 2022 promo video

Channel 10 has just released an extended promo for their 2022 lineup, showcasing a number of their top programs and presenters set to return next year.

However, one of the network’s highest-paid stars, Lisa Wilkinson, is noticeably absent from the two-minute clip unveiled on Monday.

The video features a number of Channel 10’s staple shows, including MasterChef, Australian Survivor, The Masked Singer, The Amazing Race, I’m A Celebrity, Have You Been Paying Attention? and even The Bachelor, which has seen record low ratings in 2021.

The Project also has a prominent appearance in the promo - just without Lisa and her Sunday Project co-host, Hamish Macdonald.

Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar are seen sitting at the desk alongside guest panellist Steve Price in one clip, while another shows the trio laughing alongside co-host Rachel Corbett.

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph, entertainment journalist Peter Ford said that Lisa’s absence is likely a “calculated decision” from the network rather than an oversight.

“It may be more about spooking her rather than confirmation of any intended plans,” he remarked.

“But they would absolutely have known it would be noticed and raise speculation. Bottom line is it’s never a good sign of your longevity in a workplace when you’re very publicly snubbed.”

The publication also reports that according to an insider at Channel 10, Lisa will be featured in future promos for the current affairs program in the next few weeks.

The TV host recently took time off from The Project desk amid the launch of her tell-all memoir, It Wasn’t Meant To Be Like This, and is set to return on December 5.

The new promo comes shortly after Ten was forced to shut down rumours Lisa and co-host Carrie Bickmore may be taking pay cuts due to low ratings.

In a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle, a Network 10 spokesperson said: “This claim is nonsense.

The Project has just celebrated its 12th birthday and is here to stay! At a time when information, context and understanding is more important than ever, The Project will continue to provide Australians with their dose of news delivered differently.”

It’s also reported that Lisa, who joined Channel 10 in 2017, signed a ‘lucrative’ multi-year deal with the network earlier this year.
