Lisa Curry breaks down over daughter Jaimi Kenny's death: 'Really hard'

Lisa Curry became emotional on Wednesday during an appearance on The Morning Show while speaking about the passing of her daughter, Jaimi Kenny, last year.

Jaimi, Lisa's daughter with former Ironman Grant Kenny, passed away last year at the age of 33.

The 59-year-old tried to hold the tears back, but after hearing hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies speak about the overwhelming support she had received in the last year, she broke down.

"It has been really hard and people have been really supportive," she said. "I think what I have learnt most is that every second person walking along the street is going through the same thing, so it’s really important to be empathetic of people and be kind to people and just know that people are walking around, feeling like this all the time but people don’t know about it."

When speaking about her family, Lisa admitted Jaimi's father Grant had been "struggling a lot" as well.

She added, however, that son Jett Kenny is doing well and was happy to chat about daughter Morgan's pregnancy.

"Morgan is pregnant again, which is beautiful," she said.

Morgan announced her pregnancy recently, it will be her third child with husband Ryan Gruell.

Lisa recently shared that she will be releasing a memoir that will cover her swimming career as well as Jaimi's passing.

"I have lived a pretty big life, with a lot of love, and some very heavy losses. This book is both my story and my survival guide for others," she said.

Lisa was initially writing the book before Jaimi's death but was then forced to add in two final chapters about her loss.

In September, Lisa shared a heartbreaking tribute to Jaimi, admitting that she often feels like she's "drowning in the pain".

"I would never have thought my life would be like it is now," she wrote. "Grant and I feel broken. I’ve lost myself. But each day I try to continue on, one step at a time to get things done, to continue being a mother, a grannie, a wife, a friend, a business owner.

"At times distracting myself so much that I can’t think of anything… But then the quiet times come and everything comes flooding back, every feeling, every memory and I feel like I’m drowning in the pain and I just can’t do anything."

"But each day there are times when it’s ok for a little while and I guess those little times will eventually get a little longer."

"Remembering you always our beautiful girl. Still feels like yesterday," she finished.
