An Aussie traveller has issued a warning to tourists travelling to Bali after she was hit with a shock fee.

Aussie traveller Laura Davy has shared the tip for people visiting Bali and pre-purchasing their visa online.

Ms Davy thought she had dodged the immigration queue at Denpasar Airport by purchasing her visa before she landed in Bali, but got stung with a $50 fee on arrival.

She told her TikTok followers she had already paid $50 for the online visa so she could skip the line and walk straight through the airport.

But when the immigration officer at Denpasar checked her details were correct he noticed an error on her visa.

The officer advised Ms Davy she would have to pay another $50 because her passport number was incorrect on the visa form.

“I was like no I haven’t, I put all the numbers in correctly,” Ms Davy said on her Tik Tok video.

“He said, ‘no you have missed the two front letters.’

“Backstory, my two front letters are PA so all my life I though PA meant passport number, and I thought ‘why would I have to include them.’”

“That was not the case.”

Ms Davy said she was forced to pay an additional $50 for the mistake, with her visa ending up costing her $100 after she sorted out the error.

“That is a big life lesson for me,” she said.

“If you are filling out your visa, put in all your details 100 per cent correctly.”
