Liam Neeson's nephew, 35, dies five years after suffering serious head injury in fall
The nephew of Irish actor Liam Neeson has died five years after suffering a serious head injury in a fall.
Ryan Sexton, 35, died on the weekend, surrounded by family in Northern Ireland, The Belfast Telegraph reports.
It comes 10 years after Neeson lost his wife, Natasha Richardson, who suffered a fatal head injury while skiing in Canada in March 2009. She was 45.
Sexton was on a night out with friends in Brighton, England, when he fell and hit his head.
Newspapers reported that he had climbed on top of a telephone booth and fell about six metres to the ground.
Sexton was the youngest son of Neeson’s sister Bernadette.
Speaking to Irish TV station RTE in 2017 about the death of his wife, to whom he had been married for 15 years, Neeson said: “There are periods when I heard the door opening, especially the first couple of years … Anytime I hear that door opening, I still think I’m going to hear her.”
