Lee Mead has shaved off his trademark curls to undergo a hair transplant.

The singer, 41, shared videos on Instagram showing him looking unrecognisable with a bald head, as he quipped: "Hair today gone tomorrow."

Opening up in one clip, he said he had been hiding his receding hairline and that he felt "more confident already" after having the procedure done in Istanbul.

A second video showed him at the airport preparing to jet home afterwards.

"I've got a very different look to when I left London airport," he said.

"I'm a bit nervous about coming back to the UK, seeing friends and family and just being out and about with this new look, because it's a completely different look for me."

"I could have left it the next two or three years and as I have always said, it's an individual, it's a personal thing isn't it.
