Laura Byrne reveals 'weird' side effect of common Covid symptom
Former Bachelor stars Laura Byrne and Matty Johnson were recently forced to isolate with their two children after finding out they had Covid-19 right before Christmas.
And while many people have been losing their sense of taste and smell while sick with Covid, Laura shared a strange side effect of the common symptom.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Laura updated her followers after some people questioned how long it took for her to get her taste and smell back.
"I realised I never gave an update about my whole taste and smell situation after having Covid and I realised that because now everybody who has Covid... have messaged and asked how it's going and it's back!" she shared.

"I can taste, I can smell. I'm living in the land of having all my senses back. It lasted for about seven days for me and it came back gradually like each day got a little bit better and better."
She added: "Also for anybody who was asking about chilli and telling me to try chilli, it turns out you can still feel heat like for things that are tangy or things that were supposed to be hot. I could still feel the sensation of it... but I couldn't taste flavour.
"It was f***ing weird."
Laura and Matt were driving to Queensland when they received the news that she had tested positive to Covid.
The family had been in the car for six hours after leaving Sydney to see Matt's family for Christmas before they had to turn around and head back home.
"Guess who drove six hours in a car with two kids, a dog and Cocomelon on repeat only to find out that they have Covid...and then had to drive another six hours home?!!" Laura wrote at the time.
"WE DID!!!" she said in another post with a photo of an unimpressed Matt next to her.
"Merry Christmas to everyone, except Omicron you piece of s**t."
The family of four isolated for ten days and were free to leave the house on New Year's Day.

It comes after Married At First Sight's Martha Kalifatidis shared that she has had some "lingering symptoms" since testing positive for Covid after Christmas.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday night, the 33-year-old said, "I know I've been so MIA on here, if I'm being honest I still feel pretty s**t after Covid and it's been over two weeks.
Martha continued, "I've just got all these weird, ugly lingering symptoms like I don't really do much, I can't be bothered ever leaving the house.
"I still can't taste I still have like blocked ears, blocked nose. Anyway, I'm taking all the supplements I'm doing all the things, but like, f**k I feel like s**t."
She later added that just standing up while cooking had her "puffed out".
