Latest: Bushfire emergencies in Qld

Fourteen homes have been destroyed as nearly 80 bushfires burn across Queensland

The latest on the Queensland bushfires:

* 14 homes lost since late last week

* 13 destroyed at Cobraball near Yeppoon in central Queensland; one at Cooroibah near Noosa

* 79 fires burning as at 2pm Wednesday

* New firefront threatening Noosa North Shore on the Sunshine Coast; residents told to leave immediately by ferry

* Three other "leave now" warnings in place for Woodgate, south of Bundaberg, at Kilkivan about 110 kilometres northwest of Noosa North Shore, and at Pechey near Toowoomba

* "Prepare to leave" warnings include: Spicers Peak, Mount Alphen, Tarome, Beenleigh, Black Snake, Barney View and Palen Creek, and Rosevale

* Temperatures near some fire grounds have reached 6-8C above average

* Severe fire danger for the Southeast Coast including Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, the drought-stricken Darling Downs and Granite Belt, and the Wide Bay and Burnett region

* State of fire emergency in force across 42 local government areas; total ban on outdoor fires and activities that can spark fires.
