The latest ALDI special tipped to cause more customer chaos
A new Special Buy from ALDI could cause more customer chaos ahead of Christmas.
The supermarket has released an inflatable spa for $499 as part of its Special Buys catalogue for October.
It’s already caught the eye of eager ALDI shoppers keen to add it to their homes.
It’s 60cm tall and 196cm in diameter, and is capable of fitting six adults.
While many shoppers have undoubtedly added the spa to their Christmas wish-list, it’s already on shelves and in limited supply.
That could mean a repeat of scenes earlier this year in which customers fought each other to get their hands on limited stock.
In July, the retailer made a move to boost stocks of its most popular Special Buys to stop the unpleasant customer behaviour.
In a rare interview, the chain denied it had been “baiting” shoppers with insufficient stock in a bid to whip up consumer frenzy.
“People go running in for the discount, and that’s not the behaviour we want to see,” ALDI’s Adrian Christie said.
He added that products that proved to be extremely popular would be sold multiple times throughout the year.
