Haystack on fire with field and ash on the ground - which looks blue in colour — Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Services said crews will be on site through the night [Shefford Fire Station]

Firefighters have spent the night tackling a large haystack blaze close to an A-road.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a field near the Gravenhurst junction of the A507.

A picture on the Shefford Community Fire Station Facebook page showed thick smoke rising from a haystack engulfed in flames.

The post said: "Crews will be with the fire throughout the night to ensure it doesn’t spread to the surrounding areas."
