Labor chooses secrecy, corruption: PM

Malcolm Turnbull has again zeroed in on Bill Shorten's trade union past while celebrating the passage of new laws to ban corrupt payments.

Secret payments between employers and unions will be a criminal offence under legislation which cleared the Senate on Wednesday night despite not having Labor's support.

"Labor has stood up for secrecy and corruption. We have opposed it," Mr Turnbull told reporters in Canberra on Thursday.
