Labor charges to landslide NT win

The Northern Territory's new chief minister (C) has pledged to listen to the people.

It could be 10 days before the final make-up of the new Northern Territory parliament is known, chief minister elect Michael Gunner says.

"My team is very well aware of the challenges ahead... we want to start on the right foot handling these issues, we want to do them differently, better and together," the Labor leader said on Sunday.

Mr Gunner led Labor to a resounding victory on Saturday night, ending four years of Country Liberals rule with Labor achieving an 18 per cent swing, claiming 15 seats and hopeful of another three.
