It looks like the eldest Kardashian sister is determined to start a new, revealing trend.

The 40-year-old mum of three took to Instagram with a skin-baring look that seems to turn a commonly accepted wardrobe malfunction into a bold new fashion statement.

Posing in a shimmering green Roberto Cavalli gown in her kitchen, the reality star shows off her incredible figure, and a little bit extra.

The back of the gown sits so low the star’s bum line is clearly visible peeking above the fabric.

The dreaded buttcrack flash is the stuff of nightmares for most people, but it looks like Kourtney is embracing the revealing look.

Posting the eye-popping picture to Instagram on Saturday, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star preempted any negative backlash with a cheeky caption.

“cookin’ up positivi-tea,” she wrote.

Fans were wowed by the look, and took to the comments to share their reactions.

“LOVE!” one wrote.

“Breathtaking,” another agreed.

Others couldn’t look past the revealing detail, with a mixture of reactions coming through.

“How low can u go?” one wondered.

“Crack is the new cleavage,” decreed a fan.

“How do you legit pull off having your buttcrack showing????” an admiring onlooker asked.

“The butt crack ruins the picture,” a more conservative commentator shared.

A new trend on the horizon?

Kourtney isn’t the first star to pose in a bum-baring gown, though the Kardashians have a habit of prompting worldwide trends with their dangerous looks, and we wouldn’t be surprised if this one takes off in our current climate of less, less and even less is more.

Rihanna stunned in similar ‘bottoms up’ attire back in 2014, though the world was perhaps not yet ready for the look.

These days trends from see-through wedding dresses, to naked red carpet looks, to barley-there bikinis have set a whole new bar for how much we dare to bare.
