Knife fight breaks out at NSW school

A teenager has been taken to hospital after a knife fight broke out at a school in Dubbo in central west NSW.

The fight broke out about 10.40am on Wednesday, as the two sixteen-year-old boys confronted each other, with one allegedly pulling out the knife and using it to strike the other under his chin, police said.

It will be alleged the boy with the knife also injured his own hand with the weapon.

One of the teenagers was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the other was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Other students who joined in the fight also sustained minor injuries.

Police expect to lay charges.
