Kmart shopper's 'clever' price hack praised: 'Brilliant'

A Kmart shopper has shared a 'brilliant' trick should you ever find yourself standing in front of a large or heavy item with no price tag on it.

Taking to a popular Kmart hacks group on Facebook, the woman said she wanted to share her discovery to stop people from having to lug heavy items to price scanners in store if they are unable to find assistance from a team member.

"I was at Kmart yesterday with my mum and saw a table and bench setting with no price on it so I took a photo of the barcode and took my picture over to the scanner to see if it would bring up the price under the price check and it worked," she wrote in the post.

"I wasn't sure if anyone else has tried this but saved me trying to find someone who worked there to find out a price. I thought I'd share."

Other shoppers thought the idea was 'ingenious' with the post quickly gaining over 500 likes.

"Thats so clever! Glad to know that works!" one person commented.

"What a good tip for heavy items and no assistant staff," another agreed.

"Well I've learnt something new already for 2022," was another response, while a fourth wrote: "Brilliant! Why haul stuff over if you don’t have to!!"

There were a few people who had already worked out the scanning trick, with one person commenting: "I do this all the time. It also saves lifting heavy objects just to find the cost."
