$1 Kmart adhesive transforms floor in 'life-saving' cleaning hack
Anyone with hair past their ears knows that keeping a bathroom floor hair and fluff-free is no mean feat.
Whether you vacuum the floor, only to shed hair behind you as you go, or can’t seem to get that pesky layer of fine debris from the corners no matter if you use a broom, a hoover to or even a toothbrush, you’ve probably felt the burning rage of not being able to get your floor completely clean at some point.
Well, it turns out there is good news on the hair and fluff front, with a hack solution discovered by Victorian Renee Birkett who turned an everyday household item into a fluff remover extraordinaire in a move being labelled ‘genius’.
Using nothing other than a leftover cut of Kmart adhesive plastic vinyl, usually reserved for bubbling school exercise books or jazzing up a boring surface, the woman of the hour demonstrated how to completely rid your floor of excess fluff in a matter of seconds.
Renee tells Yahoo Lifestyle she was sick to death of the pesky fluff that clings to bathroom surfaces and had a lightbulb moment when she thought to recycle the small pieces of adhesive vinyl she had left in a craft drawer.
“I was just thinking I needed something sticky to pick up all the fluff after always smearing it across the bench and bathroom with a cloth and the vacuum not picking up the stuck-on bits,” she says.
“I remembered I had some pieces of contact leftover from something crafty I was doing and I was surprised how well it worked!”
She wasn’t the only one surprised at the nifty outcome when she a=shared it to a Facebook hacks page it caused quite a stir among the similarly-frustrated.
Uploading a video of the process, Renee explained that once the contact has been stuck and detached from a surface a number of times, it becomes just sticky enough to pick up debris without adhering to the floor.

“The contact once you stick it to something a couple of times so it's not super sticky acts like a sticky wipe and picks up all the fluff,” she explained alongside a video demonstrating the game-changing trick.

Hundreds were quick to like the clever video, with dozens more commenting their gobsmacked reactions.
“Bloody brilliant!” one woman wrote.

Others loved the fact that the trick recycled used vinyl, with pesky snipped off corners often thrown out without ever being used.

It’s not the first time an unexpected, but insanely clever, secondary use of an everyday item has wowed hack and cleaning enthusiasts.
