Perth woman throws up KFC's 'raw chicken'

A Perth woman said KFC served her raw chicken that she was forced to throw up.

Heather Summers said she went to the Butler fast food outlet in Perth's northern suburbs on Tuesday where she ordered a popcorn chicken box and sliders and returned home.

She said she was watching a movie with the blinds closed and had eaten about six pieces before realising something was wrong.

"[I] thought something was strange – particularly when I had a large piece, and it tasted slushy," she said, WA Today reported.

"I put the light on and was horrified to discover pure, raw chicken."

Ms Summers said she forced herself to throw up and then rang the store who asked if she wanted her meal replaced.

She said she was eventually offered a refund.

A KFC spokesperson said they had been in touch with Ms Summers and that its "number one priority is the health and safety of our customers and employees."

"Serving great food, to the highest safety standards, is paramount. We have contacted the customer and are in the process of investigating the incident at our Butler restaurant," the statement said.
