They say you never strike gold twice but one Sydneysider has beaten the odds.

The man from St Andrews in the city’s southwest picked up his second Keno lottery win in a month on Friday, taking home $78,000 in a Keno Classic 8 Spot.

“It’s not sinking in mate,” he told a Keno official on Monday. “I’m not sure if it will.”

“It was only a few weeks ago that I won something like $20,000 in another Keno draw.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw my numbers come up again!”

The winning ticket in draw 997 was picked up at The Star Casino in Pyrmont and is valued at $78,010.60.

After paying off some bills, the winner says he might take a holiday and buy his mum whatever she wants.

“It’s surreal, but you’ve got to be in it to win it,” he said.

“What a couple of weeks it has been!”
