A kayaker has suffered serious injuries to his hand after it got stuck in a boat propeller in New South Wales.
The 46-year-old was kayaking at Shoal Bay, near Port Stephens before 7am on Sunday after he suffered serious injuries in what NSW Police said was a collision with a boat while in the water, NSW Police said in a statement.
The kayaker was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition with severe injuries to his right hand and forearm.
The 26-year-old driver of the boat was taken for mandatory testing by police with a crime scene also established and an investigation undertaken.

The boat will also be examined as inquiries continue.
