As the new mother was unable to attend the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, she decided to poke some fun at the show with a revealing selfie of her post-baby body and sharing the reality of life as a new mum.

Katy posed for the mirror selfie while wearing a nursing bra and maternity underwear while her song 'Not the End of the World' from her new album Smile played.

"Hair n makeup by: @exhaustion," she joked, though in all honesty, she still looks amazing.

She posted a sticker in tribute to the VMAs, an award show she would usually be attending in a designer look.

It seems as though Katy hasn't had much of a break since giving birth, with her latest album being released just two days later.

Katy loves the VMAs and even hosted the award show in 2017, but no doubt, she enjoyed watching the show from home with Daisy Dove.

Katy and Orlando chose a very different way to announce the birth of Daisy Dove, by announcing through UNICEF.

The post read, "Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy.

"'We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,' Katy and Orlando told us.”

The couple continued, "But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes.

"Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever.⠀

"As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.

"In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your [heart] can bloom with generosity."

Katy and Orlando announced their engagement on Valentine's Day last year, the pair are rumoured to have started dating in 2016 after being seen looking cosy at a Golden Globes after party.

Orlando also has a nine-year-old son Flynn, who he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
