Kathy Griffin Revealed Her Shocking New Look After Getting Her Lips Tattooed
As her hilarious T-shirt suggests, comedian Kathy Griffin has been officially uncanceled — and she has the new lips to prove it.
On Aug. 24, the 62-year-old legendary comic shared a YouTube video titled, "I GOT MY LIPS TATOOED!," that provided a quick and funny behind-the-scenes of an aesthetic appointment in July at Vale of Shadows in Los Angeles for a few face enhancements.
"OK, so first of all, I'm trying to go under the radar," Kathy joked, showing off the self-portrait T-shirt with the words "Officially-Uncancelled," a possible reference to the 2017 incident where she received backlash for being photographed with a bloody replica of former President Donald Trump's head.
"Second of all, I'm going to get my eyebrows micro-bladed more because I didn't do enough last time, and I'm getting my lips tattooed, but they call it blushing? We'll see," Kathy included as she disappeared into the doctor's office.
After she entered the aesthetician's office, Kathy reclined on a black cushioned exam table to prepare for the micro-blading procedure to give her face a few perks like she's on the character creation screen of The Sims 4.
Then, Kathy showed herself with a white cream dressed around the edges of her lips before the practitioner asked, "You ready to not speak for three hours?"
Kathy hilariously responded, "Whaaaaaat?" just before a plastic film that possibly contained a numbing agent was placed over her mouth so she didn't feel pain during the procedure.
Then, the aesthetician used a tattoo gun to begin the procedure.
"Lip blush tattooing is similar to the whip-shading or pepper-shading techniques seen in traditional tattooing," according to Shaughnessy Otsuji, cosmetic tattoo artist and cofounder of Studio Sashiko in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.
