Kate Middleton certainly knows how to make an impression.

As she presented an award to an emerging designer at a British Fashion Council event in London this week, the Duchess of Cambridge showed she understood the assignment perfectly.

Wearing a teal midi length dress by London-Canadian designer Edeline Lee, Kate said: "It is an absolute honour to be here today."

Kate presented the Queen Elizabeth II Award to menswear designer Saul Nash.

"I've heard so many inspiring stories about Britain's creativity and seen such incredible work from many talented designers," Kate said at the ceremony.

The biggest showstopper of the event was Kate's pebble textured dress. Priced at $1444, the frock was embellished with a gold belt buckle, and she paired it with a pair of Emmy London shoes, $913, a matching clutch, $608, and some statement gold earrings, $95, from Nadia Irena.
