Kate Middleton 'bursts into tears' over coronavirus impact

Kate Middleton “burst into tears" after hearing stories from families who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

The 36-year-old Duchess of Cambridge was visiting Baby Basics in the UK where she admitted she has found it "very emotional" to hear what some families have endured amidst the global health crisis, and said that after speaking to people from the English town of King's Lynn about their struggles with Covid-19, she found herself moved to tears.

"It can get very emotional. I remember a couple of the families I met from King's Lynn and I went home and literally burst into tears, their stories were so moving. The struggles they have gone through, the bravery they have shown ... in extraordinary circumstances. Helping their families through extraordinary times,” she said.

"Having somewhere to turn to for support is important for all families, and baby banks work every day, up and down the country, to provide immediate, tangible and practical help for parents and carers when they are most in need."

Just hours later, Kate was seen out and about again, with her husband, Prince William, on a visit to Cardiff.

The couple called in to Shire Hall Care Home in the Welsh capital where Prince William asked one of the residents, Joan Drew-Smith, 87: “Hello Joan, do you remember we did the bingo with you? You said we weren't very good!”

She replied saying: “Yes, you did a b*****y s****y joba.”

The couple, who found Joan’s honesty refreshing, went on to play arcade games in Cardiff, in the same arcade where hit TV series Gavin & Stacey was filmed.

Meanwhile, Kate previously joked her youngest son Louis "doesn't understand" social distancing, and said she's been finding it hard to keep him from "cuddling everything".

She said: "Louis doesn't understand social distancing. So he goes out wanting to cuddle everything, particularly any babies younger than him."
