Few men would be keen on seeing their wife is the embrace of another and Julianne Moore's husband is no different.

The actress, 60, has revealed that her other half, Bart Freundlich, feels, understandably, rather uneasy when she films sex scenes.

She told the Mail on Sunday's You magazine: "He hates it – which I love about him.

"It is funny because I have to say, 'It literally is work...' But I understand it and I think it’s healthy.

"If you felt it was OK for people to kiss your wife it would be sort of weird. But, yeah, he doesn’t love that."

Moore – who was previously married in her 20s – met her director husband, 51, in 1996 on the set of the film The Myth of Fingerprints.

They went on to wed in 2003, and share son Caleb, 23, and 19-year-old daughter Liv.

The Still Alice star noted that she always wanted to be married and have kids, and found the idea – that a generation of feminists were taught – that you should "wait" for a romantic partner to come along, was "antiquated".

It comes after Moore, who has been a Hollywood leading lady since the mid-1990s, shared the secrets behind her youthful looks.

In an interview with The Sunday Times' Style earlier this year, she said: "My mother has a lot to do with it because she wouldn’t let us go in the sun.

"She couldn’t be in the sun and I look just like her. I wear a sunscreen on my face every day and a hat too."

The star added that she includes lots of fish and vegetables in her diet, and also tries to do yoga four to five times a week.
