Cena, who joined WWE in 2001, confirmed he will be leaving the wrestling ring in 2025. He shared the surprise news at the WWE Money in the Bank event, which was later posted as a video on X/Twitter.

"BREAKING NEWS: John Cena announced at #MITB he will retire from in-ring competition in 2025. #ThankYouCena," read the caption.

"I've been doing this awhile. I've been in WWE for over two decades," he continued, praising the support and dedication of the Canadian fans. "But why now? Because it's Money in the Bank. The ultimate symbol of opportunity."

The audience were audibly disappointed as Cena listed his farewell tour of events. "The 2025 Royal Rumble will be my last. The 2025 Elimination Chamber will be my last," he stated.

"And I'm here tonight to announce that in Las Vegas, WrestleMania 2025 will be the last WrestleMania I compete in."

Humbled by the crowd's "thank you, Cena" chant, the wrestler expressed his own gratitude. "What an incredible gesture of kindness," he replied. "Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years."

As he left the ring, the WWE legend reminded fans and fellow wrestlers that it would be their last chance to watch him compete before his retirement.

Cena made his acting debut in 2006 when he starred as John Triton in The Marine. He has since appeared in various movies alongside other household names, including Zac Efron and Vin Diesel.

The actor puzzled fans recently when he announced the launch of his OnlyFans account. However, the post was actually a marketing stunt for his new movie Ricky Stanicky, which was released earlier this year.
