Jetstar staff praised for going 'above and beyond' for family

Jetstar staff have been praised for going “above and beyond” for a family running late for a flight to Bali.

Cheryl Gavan was waiting on a flight to Bali from Sydney on Sunday afternoon when she noticed a family of four were running late for their flight.

Ms Gavan told Yahoo News Australia, Jetstar staff at the terminal were determined to ensure the parents and their young kids didn’t miss their holiday and went searching for them

“Boarding passes, boarding passes,” a crew member calls out.

“Good girl,” she says to one of the kids.

Ms Gavan said she also heard the staff member tell the family to “run”.

“When they got there she didn’t show any frustration just pure compassion for them was a beautiful thing,” she said.

“She really led her team by exhibiting a genuine desire to do everything she could to make sure the family didn’t miss the flight.”

Ms Gavan added she was impressed with the lengths Jetstar went to to make sure the family didn’t miss the flight and how efficient they were.

“These guys probably held the plane up for no more than five minutes,” she said.

“ I was impressed with how the staff were onto it so quick - the couple had young kids and were so relieved to get there.

“All round a great result.”

A Jetstar spokesperson said the airline’s always pleased to hear when staff go “above and beyond”.

“They know how important it is for families that they make their flights and we will be thanking them for the care they took with these passengers,” the spokesperson said.
