Jetstar plane diverted after emergency on board


A Jetstar flight has been forced to return to Melbourne.

Jetstar flight JQ 772 spent less than half an hour in the air after it departed Melbourne Airport about 11.45am, according to Flight Aware.

It was heading for Adelaide.

A Jetstar spokesman told Yahoo7 two crew members felt unwell and the flight had to be diverted.

“The captain decided to return to Melbourne as a precaution due to two of our crew reporting feeling unwell after an unusual smell in the back galley,” he said.

“Our crew have been assessed by medical staff and our engineers are inspecting the aircraft.

“The flight has been delayed until this afternoon, with customers being re-accommodated on a replacement aircraft.”
