Jesy Nelson no longer speaks to Little Mix but says there's 'no bad blood'

Jesy Nelson has confirmed she longer speaks to her former Little Mix bandmates but insists there’s “no bad blood”.

The singer quit the group in December 2020, saying she was leaving for the sake of her mental health, and has now revealed she is no longer on speaking terms with Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall.

Discussing it on The Graham Norton Show, she said: “We’re not talking any more.

"It is sad but honestly there is no bad blood from my side, and I still love them to pieces and genuinely wish them all the best.”

“But it’s just one of those things which needs to take time, so who knows,” she said.

“To me they are still the ‘sickest’ girl band in the world.”

Nelson also told Norton that she is hoping to release a solo album next year.

“I’m still in the writing process and I don’t want to rush things,” she said.

Little Mix was formed on The X Factor 2011 after the members all originally auditioned as solo artists.

They won the competition and went on to enjoy huge success with hits such as Black Magic and Shout Out To My Ex.

Nelson left in December after nine years, citing the toll on her mental health as the reason.

“The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard,” she said on Instagram at the time.

"I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy," she went on.

The Graham Norton Show is at 10.35pm on BBC One tonight (29 October) and is available on BBC iPlayer.
