Jennifer Garner Revealed That A Friend Died In The Los Angeles Wildfires In An Emotional TV Interview
The devastating Los Angeles wildfires continue to burn across the city. New evacuation orders have been issued as the destruction to the city has increased, claiming the lives of at least 16 people so far.
On Friday (Jan. 10), Jennifer Garner appeared on MSNBC alongside chef and World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés to survey the damage done thus far — and she got personal about the losses endured by people she knows.
During the interview, Jennifer revealed that over 100 people she knows have lost their houses — and that one person from her church tragically died in the fires.
“I did lose a friend, and for our church, it’s really tender, so I don’t feel like I should talk about her yet,” she said while becoming visibly emotional. “I did lose a friend. She didn’t get out in time.”
“My heart bleeds for my friends. I mean, I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes lost. I can, without even [thinking], I could just write out a list of 100 friends who lost their homes."
"I feel almost guilty walking through my house. You know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer?"
"What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the safety that I have?”
